On Wednesday, 19th September, we will be hosting a get together for freshers about to start at Oxford. This is a chance for the students to make new friends before starting on their Oxford adventure. Current students and alumni are more than welcome to come along. The event will take place at The Golden Guinea in Bristol (BS1 6SX).

We had great fun tantalising our taste buds with delicious chocolate at our recent tasting event in Bath. Members commented that it was a real eye-opener y to focus on a product and also to sense how quality makes itself felt on your taste buds!

How do you start translating a text from one language to another? What are the main tools at a translator’s disposal? Is the source text more important than the reader of your translation? Christophe Fricker offered a hands-on workshop on these questions for both beginners and language connoisseurs.
